Follow These Steps and You're well on your way to getting your band out in the Market!
- Ever wanted to know how some bands on social sites get hundreds even thousands of hits and music plays a day?
Well first things first. What's your band all about? Style, sound, members etc... Find out what everyone in the band likes and start from there. Now, not everyone may agree on everything that the others like so just start out with getting it all out on the table! What style of music do you play? The vibe of the band should suit the music. So if you're a grunge band - Don't portray yourselves as a happy boy band (unless that's what you want)
If you are a grunge or metal band then you'll probably want a darker image for the band. Skulls, barbed wire, darker colours like blacks and reds, things like that. Take a look around at other bands that might be in the same genre (don't copy them) to get a good look at their vibe. Listen to the music and browse their web site or myspace - It should suit the music.
When it comes to building up the band it's easior to start with doing so on social sites rather then just building your own web site and tring to get people to visit it. You should think of social sites just like giant advertising pages. The best ones (in my opinion) are Myspace, Facebook and GarageBand.
It should be a place where you can advertise not only the band but it's music and (if you have one) your own site. There are tons of places on the internet that allow you to mod any social sites out there. There are templates and generators for just about everything these days.
Let's say you've picked Myspace to start on. First build a band profile and input whatever information you can about the band and submit some music. If you know what kind of design you're going for you can modify the layout in the Edit or Safe Mode sections using whatever you can use (generated codes/layout codes or simply writing the code yourself). Once you're happy with how everything looks then it's time to get your band out there and noticed by others!

Exactly that! Don't Give Up!! It's not going to be easy or instant. the process will be based on how much time and effort you put into ever aspect of marketing and getting people to notice you!
It takes time but if you play hard you'll get rewarded in the end! I'm not saying you'll be signed and make it big like some other bands but you'll definatly get noticed by fans and possibley those big companies. You just need to do things the right way and get involved.
Do you have something unique? Something you don't see out there in the music world? Well if you do, play on that! People will notice something they haven't seen and follow you to see where you go with it!
Stay in contact with your fans no matter how small they may seem. They will be the ones that pass your name around. Don't rely on them - Be nice to them. Maybe get some of them to start a street team for you. Even if it's just based on the internet, having something like that makes you seem bigger. And seeming bigger can lead to bigger things!
